The body is acrylic/plastic, and the rubber floor guard is nice. The rope tuning is cool and makes it easier to hold than whole body ones. The head is skin. Happy about that. Hits a deep bass tone and it resonates enough to hit treble notes ontop. Good stuff. Bass tone is 3 beats so definitely a jam drum. Enjoy!

This drum is definitely easy to transport. Very light.I returned this one though and bought a 14". I like bigger bass than this drum could produce.

I received my Toca Synergy Freestyle Djembe today and am so pleased. Rich sound and lightweight shell, very beautiful. Can't go wrong for the price it's being sold at, especially if you are a beginner like me.
