Years ago an orthopedic doctor recommended New Balance sneakers to help with calf and knee injuries. He explained that these sneakers are actually made with input from podiatrists (foot doctors). These are extremely comfortable and fit perfectly. What I found out over the years is that not all New Balance are the same. At least twice I bought New Balance on sale for $39.99 plus tax. However, they were cheap, weak and not thick enough. The New Balance sold here are excellent quality. The heel down to the toe is well padded and thick which is very supportive. Also if you bend the front of the shoe it's sturdy and hard to bend. If you try to bend the heel part it's virtually impossible. These sneakers are very well built. When a shoe can't be bent easily in the front or back it passes the strength test. This means it provides better protection for your feet. You just have to make sure you order the correct size for you.I'm extremely happy with this purchase and I'll positively order them again at this price.

I work for a major package delivery company and I'm on my feet all day. This shoe is comfortable and durable. It's probably not the MOST comfortable shoe out there, but it is the most comfortable in it's price range that I've found. A big plus for me is that it comes in wide widths. The only negatives for me are the shoe strings are too long and could use a little more padding. I had to buy some inserts to make it better. I would still recommmend and buy them again.

Generally, I am a fan of all NB shoes. For very long time, I've ALWAYS has been buying NB Trainig Shoes in black for my gym workout and general walking and I always like it for good quality, good fit and comfortable/cushion & low price. However, whatever the reasons are, this particular model is not so comfortable at all. I bought 2E width and its like 4E width. I double checked with my previous 2E (older model) and this one is definitely MUCH wider. This shoes is not comfortable for walking either. I would NOT recommend this model at all.

The 608's are a comfortable pair of sneakers that I usually use to pretend I'm wearing nicer shoes to work in. With a pair of slacks and a dress shirt no one looks to closely at a guys shoes so getting away with comfortable shoes is fairly easy. The primary issue with, at least, this model is it completely falls apart in a few months. I buy two pairs at a time and I buy them fairly regularly on an annual basis. They're inexpensive which is nice but by the time my annual purchase comes around the shoes are unwearable. The bottom rubber layer (the part that hits the ground) starts to peel off about 2-3 months into wearing them. This is not due to excessive use or anything just wearing them to work 5 days a week. Keep in mind that I alternate shoes daily so it's really only half the wear of that. The inside loses it's pillowy-ness in a few months as well. The last ones I bought seem to have an odd defect in the toe area. A section of the toe was pressed in and doesn't seem to return to it's natural form. So it looks like there's a big dent in the toe area. It does, mostly, pop-out with some effort though.

I need a black pair of shoes for work, and I went with New Balance last time (September 2009). I regularly walk outside in all the sorts of weather NW Indiana has to offer, and these shoes held up really well. They just started to wear down to the point where I am going to replace them for comfort, but they still look good on the outside. The fabric at the top of my left heel is starting to wear away on the inside, but that's probably a result of me putting on my shoes the lazy way nearly every day and not untying them. I see a lot of poor reviews, so maybe I just got lucky. Hopefully I get this lucky again because 17 months is probably the longest I have gone without having to buy new work shoes.

I was a little leery after seeing some negative reviews to purchase this shoe for a long vacation with a lot of walking in Europe this past summer. But the reasonable price and my past experiences with New Balance products swayed me to make the buy. This shoe performed great in every terrain with lots of walking and hiking every day all over Europe. They were the only pair of shoes I took and their comfort, traction and resilience to foul weather were beyond my expectations. We must have walked an easily 12 miles a day for the better part of a month mostly on hard surfaces and the comfort of my feet were never an issue. I have only owned the shoes 5 months but they are holding up wonderful and competed the task I asked them to.

White / Black color shoes. These are the MX-608's. Don't know what's up with the MX designation, but not the same as the older version. The old 608's were the best overall shoes I have ever owned. Loved the white / green scheme. These might not be constructed as well but still more than enough for this price. And that's the key, buy at a good price and the shoes are well worth it.Same old New Balance overall quality. Great fit for my feet. Wasn't sure if I would like the black toe trim but works well. These are for my job. The black highlights don't show scuffs nearly as much. Put a lot of miles on my feet and I never have truly worn out a pair of NB's. Scuffed them beyond presentable for work but the shoe construction holds up well.Bought some 602's recently, what a dog of a shoe. Just got a pair of MT-621's in last week, great shoe. Light and tight with a good design for the lace connections at the top of the tongue / side of the shoe. So I am familiar with new balance shoes. Been buying them for a while.Price+Quality=Good buy.
