This is my first time ever writing a review. And I am doing so because this spreader just wasted my entire night putting it together. The instructions to assemble this product might have been the worst I’ve seen. One piece of paper and the print is so small. By the time I got it up and running it was was getting dark. I did one pass with it and the handle came loose on the side. It may or may not have been my error with the assembly but again the print is so small you can’t even tell what you’re really looking at with all the bolts and washer and nuts they give you. And oh I hope you have a wide variety of sockets and wrenches because I had to use about 5 different sockets and wrenches to get this thing together. No need to have such a wide variety of sizes. Even you have mitts for hands good luck holding all the tiny nuts and bolts. I’m not a big guy but even I had a hard time fitting my fingers and hands to hold some of them. What a joke. So could this be an ok product? Maybe. But the instructions alone and choice of different nuts and bolts will drive you mad. I’d think twice.

Nice product. Haven’t used it yet, appears well made and good value for the money. I warned my husband that many reviews r/t assembly stated it was difficult and it was. Instructions have been copied and recopied till they are barely legible. It was missing a couple of screws but we had replacements available. You definitely save money buying this one, just be ready to assemble and reassemble. Overall a very good product. If they want a 5, need to provide legible instruction or give us a website to see instructions at least!

This is the 1st product that the assembly instructions are so poor that I am at a loss if it is what I want or not. I just wanted a spreader for pet moss, not a lesson in engineering or a product lacking clear instructions. The steel quality is great, instructions on how to assemble are very poor. This product is not for anyone non-mechanical engineering who can determine assembly based on engineering common sense.

Latches are side mounted and firm. Adjustable handle is a plus. Frame is sturdy. Works really well. Does a good job at separating out junk and debris in your compost/soil/peat (looking at you, Scott’s top soil and lawn soil).Assembly was straightforward but plan on taking some time (lots of repetitive parts and smallish spaces — I imagine that’s the same with all of these compost spreaders though). Used blue thread locker on nuts/bolts just in case. Haven't noticed any paint chipping or rust issues with a couple of uses — but will buy a can of yellow Rustoleum if I see anything!

Received this yesterday and finished installing today. Not sure why so many people had problems installing. There really aren’t that many pieces. And the meshes lined up with the round drums. The mesh fits on the outside of the drums. Just line up the 2 latches for the door and lock them in place with the drums. Then screw the bolts/washers in place. All the bolts and washers were accounted for. Diagram was basic but really didn’t need it. 1 hour was all I needed and I was taking my time. $129 for this 36 inch roller vs $279 Landzie. Will see how it holds up but the welds and locking screws seem good. I’m a happy homeowner who enjoys yard work.

The first time I used it, the spreader worked well. After loading it up with topsoil and trying to operate it, I noticed the handle on either side started to bend. In other words, I thought maybe I loaded too much dirt into barrel. So until I unloaded some of the lawn soil? I pulled the unit rather than pushed it until it became a little lighter. Then I was able the push it as well as pull it. In my opinion I think the forks that connects to either side of the barrel could be stronger. As for the efficiency of spreading the topsoil, it did that very well.
