Excellent oil for the shop, home, and more. The greatest oil for sewing machines I use this oil in my singer 111W115 to keep it operating smoothly and excellent oil for my Chinese cobbler machine. This oil does not get gummy or sticky, it does not stain fabrics, has not harmed painted surfaces, and I love the little bottle with spout. It is ideal to use for cleaning the exterior of stainless steel appliances cleaning and wiping down tools when you are finished using them before putting them away. Use it on knives, firearms, locks, and anywhere else you need light lubricant that does not get gummy or stain. It creeps right into hinges and tight places perfectly. I have used this oil as bug and tar remover to safely remove nastiness from the painted surfaces, aluminum, glass lenses, plastic lenses, and the chrome, and steel on my motorcycles it works beautifully wiping off without a gummy residue. I use it as a honing oil for sharpening knives on my honing stones. Reason being my stones stay clean, do not get gummy or sticky, when I need to clean my stones its a breeze, and I achieve the desired honing finish on my edges. I use this oil on clutch and throttle cables on motorcycles because it keeps them moving nicely and again no problems with my cables getting gummy. Try it for cutting and tapping metal I love this oil for that application as well because it wipes off without the mess. This oil is ideal for many applications because if you think about what an industrial sewing machine in an upholstery or leather shop goes through every day they go through a lot. Lots of moving parts along with lots of little oiling points on these machines head some oiling points have wicks or felt to soak up this oil to keep parts of them oiled. Some wick oilers on your clutch motor that turns these industrial machines require proper lubrication this oil protects my equipment. Plus it does not gunk up a wick which shows me that it doesn't hurt the capillary action of my wicks or felts which shows this is a very clean highly refined oil. A wick doesn't lie they will trap dirt, dye, and yes even moisture which destroys them if you do not believe me go do some research on wicks for kerosene heaters and how oil was filtered during the depression using wicks.If you let this oil sit on a sewing machine that does not get used for a really long time sure it will get a little waxy or gummy which is to be expected this happens just clean/oil with this oil get back to sewing its part of the deal. Properly cleaning and oiling of your sewing machine as the manufacturer specifies in your owners manual using this oil your machine should last a lifetime. Sad part is many people do not oil or maintain their home sewing machine's or industrial sewing machine's and their machine prematurely wears or breaks. Such breakdowns are costly and can be prevented. Your machine, your shop, tools, home, cars, pickups, motorcycles, race cars, expensive toys, and everything else you can use this oil on will thank you for using it. I have used this oil ever since I was a child and have a lot of experience with it. I write this review from my personal experiences with this oil hopefully they are helpful for anybody interested in this oil.
