I have purchased 2 or 3 boxes of different brands of 6x9 envelope, and these are the most well put together. Adhesive is strong enough, and the envelope opens on the long side. The price on this can vary, so get them on special if you're concerned about cost.

These envelopes have been great for sending homemade greeting cards, pamphlets, invoices, etc. They are pretty thick so you don't easily see through them and the gumminess of the flap is great. They do exactly what I need them to - get my stuff there safely, what more can I ask for?
