The Kaweco Sport was first designed in 1911 as a fountain pen which could be carried everywhere. A pocket filler that when was closed only 10.5 cm in size, but with attached cap reached a normal size of 13 cm, hence the slogan, '"Small in the pocket, large in the hand".

And this is from someone who has been inside too many hotel rooms and held too few good pens.I mean it's the sort of pen you get at the hotel front desk, or at a conference in some place you don't care about, with the name of some company that makes printer toner stamped on it. The hollow, plastic, disposable kind of pen that you will lose, and not give it a second thought. The Kaweco Sport is not that pen.It is German, so its engineered like a BMW, it looks like it could fall off a bar counter in Saigon and still write its name. It's small, deceptively so. Pocket-sized. But don't let the size trick you, once you post the cap it becomes something else altogether - balanced, solid, confident in your hand. Like you just slipped brass knuckles on your knuckles because you're gonna step into a dark alley.I got the Classic version, black, gold trim, with a fine nib. It screws shut, no snap-cap. Shove in a standard international cartridge (I use Kaweco midnight blue, because I like my words to look like they’ve been around the block), and you’re ready to write something that matters. A postcard. A last will and testament. A love note you’ll never send.Does it flex like some gold-nibbed Japanese number? No. This is not a pen for flourishes and frilly loops. This is for a person who wants to say something. Direct. Honest. Maybe a little mad. It’s not expensive. But it doesn’t feel cheap. It feels like something you could have picked up in Berlin in 1965 from a shop run by a guy with nicotine fingers and a mustache. Something you’re still carrying decades later, chipped and scuffed but still writing like it has a story to tell.Just throw one in your bag. Take it to Bangkok. To Naples. To a diner in Jersey at 2 a.m. Write something raw. Something real. And when someone asks what pen that is, shrug. Because some things are better to be kept to yourself.

Es cierto que el precio del clip quizás no es barato, y que éste podría disimularse si no se vendiera por separado. No obstante, escribe bien, lo utilizo para dibujar y, aunque tengo 2 de diferentes colores, no será el último. Es fiable.

Love my Kaweco pens and this one does not disappoint. The first one was "stolen" by one of my kids so I had to replace it.

The nib is smooth. I use it with platinum carbon black and so far so good. Also have gifted two in other colors and both well received.Great for small on the go fountain pen.

A great pen that I purchased to replace the exact same one stolen out of my vehicle. This pen works great for cursive or block-style writing. Small and compact, great for travel. Recommend you purchase the clip for it to be able to secure it better.

The first thing that struck me about the Kaweco Sport was its size. It is incredibly small. This is not a bad thing. The small size makes it an ideal everyday carry pen. At first, I had some problems with ink leaking around where the nib joins the body of the pen. This seemed to clear up with use, and as the ink fully entered the feed.It has a satisfying amount of feedback. Though it has a fine nib, the line is sufficiently wide so as to be very legible. Still getting used to it. If the leaking problem persists, I will have to send it back, but I do enjoy the way it writes and the convenience offered by the small size.

This pen writes very smoothly for a fine nib, though I think I had to write a couple of paragraphs for the coating to wear off the tipping material before it became a smooth writer. It isn't what I'd call a wet pen either, but it copes with Noodler's X Feather well without hard starts.Unless you convert it to an eyedropper, you're going to have to accept using either small international carts or a teeny tiny converter. You aren't going to write a novel between refills like you would a Noodler's Ink Konrad. The style is lovely, and when posted is long enough for even large hands like mine. The section is on the small side but still comfortable. It's very light in the hand, but with the clip and the cap posted it is well balanced and a joy to write with. I think it might not be quite as comfortable as some of my bigger pens, but it's a small tradeoff for the portability of it. This thing will fit in your shirt or pants pocket with ease.I don't think it'll quite have the durability of an acrylic or celluloid pen as it is vac molded lightweight ABS, but then again - what did you want for this price? This is the sort of pen you throw in your jacket pocket or rucksack and don't care if it gets wrecked. In conclusion: Buy one, they're great.

These are the best! I love pens, fountain pens and pocket pens especially, and this is both! I have several (maybe more than several,,,,,)of them, in all varieties- plastic, aluminum, brass, in fine and extra fine nibs, set up for eyedropper, converter and cartridge, and I love them all. However, the two I use the most are the classic black (this one) and my first one, a plastic burgundy model. They fit perfectly in my pants pocket with a pocket clip, and for a fountain pen, are relatively impervious to the occasional drop to the floor, provided the cap is on ( like "floor -1, nib-0"). My most used pen. True story.
