Fantastic kit for the price. Quality as you would expect from StewMac and great instructions included, but still allows for customization in the build.

The kit was complete and the components were quality. You do need to be a seasoned wood worker to be able to do this project with some string instrument knowledge but Stew Mac takes the diffculty out of it for the most part.

In enjoyed building this kit. I am a retired Architectural wood worker and was looking for a project to satisfy my love for wood and music. The kit is well thought out and the instructions were clear. I recommend watching all the videos before you start.I did a couple of modifications. I used a thicker and wider block inside the body for the neck dowels, also I used 3/8" dowels instead of the 1/4" dowels provided. I also had a piece of curly koa I book matched and applied to the head with a stripe of purple heat for interest.I decided to use the low g tuning to get a deeper tone. So I bought D'addario tenor uke strings. All and all I am very happy with the results. It looks good and has a wonderful rich sound.
