So I use a tripod for a range scope and occasionally for actual camera use. The tripod I had been using I paid $40 for and thought it acceptable. I've been using it for around 20 years. I'm shocked at both how much better tripods have gotten and in this case, for how little more than what I originally paid for a cheaper unit 20 years ago.I am no photographer so this review is from someone who doesn't know tripods other than using them. Features I liked with this was how quickly you can set it up. The markings on the rotation base so I can quickly go back to a particular spot (when using the range scope). Has a hook on the side that you can use to hang a weight from for added stability. Although I didn't try, I think it is sturdy enough for use as a standing gun perch. The boom part is entirely new for me...no use for a range scope, but I can see it being handy for camera/video use.Couple minor complaints (and what in part gave this only 4 stars rather than 5). Although I like the bubble levels and probably for this it is more than accurate enough...but, I noticed if you level it and then rotate the base the level doesn't stay perfectly centered. I tried leveling it both from the legs and the head, but no matter what I couldn't get it to remain level under the full rotation. I chalk this up to inaccuracies in the whole assembly and probably not something that will have any real effect, but I wanted to mention it. The other is the legs and how they lock into place. They only lock when moving them out. They don't lock 'in place' and any bumps on the legs will cause them to move back in. This makes for fast take downs and setups...but, it also makes it somewhat unstable and some clumsy person walking around your tripod could easily cause one of the legs to fold back in and the whole thing comes tittering down (breaking your expensive equipment). The bubble thing was minor, but this does concern me. I'm pretty sure I didn't miss something...and it might be possible to tighten the leg screws so they have more resistance. But out of the box this was my experience.Oh, I also wanted to mention that I wish the carry bag had either another small carrying bag that went inside of it (and was used for the various small parts that come with this) or a built in pouch to do the same. I did like that the carry bag was long enough that I could fit the tripod in it without having to take the head unit off. I wouldn't have used it otherwise.Overall I really like this tripod. It is way better than what I bought 20 years ago and definitely worth the additional cost over a really cheap one. I can't tell you what features a more expensive one might have over this, but I can tell you for at least my needs, it totally works for me and is worth it.

Comparing this to my expensive Manfrotto tripod, this tripod does almost the same job, AND, it comes PACKED will all the things I want to see in a tri-pod. ❤️🔥 Tons of value here as you would usually buy these pieces separately in a lot of cases. Well worth the money, especially if just starting out.USES🖼️ The extension arm unlocks the ability to set your angle of pivot directly over the point of rotation which you need for professional panoramic photography.🌃 Holds up my heavy astronomy binoculars well.🖼️ Portable and stable enough for professional photography with my D100 and my heaviest glass. 💪Here's what this tripod does right:✅ Light weight aluminum with multi collapse legs means I can use this as my travel tripod. It collapses up pretty small.✅ It has a weigh-down hook. You can sandbag this guy for stability. So many tripods don't come with this essential feature.✅ Legs can be unlocked to go to extreme angles. This is great for when you need to be in a tight space, up a wall, or any number of strange angles for your shot.✅ This has a convertable neck. This innovation is next-level. And really adds so much more to your flexibility in angles.✅ Ball head means very quick adjustment to any angle you can find. This is a must in my book.✅ Very solid hot-shoe release. This is another must-have in my book.☑️ The hot-shoe does not finger-tighten well using the little ring so you'll want to use a screwdriver (better yet, just carry a quarter which works great) to tighten down the shoe. This is a minor point.✅ This tripod has line levels all over the place. So nice to not have to carry these as separate items. Super-handy✅ Swivel head has it's own knob color and measuring marks which is great for quickly identifying which knob does what.☑️ The provided phone holder clamp is cheap and won't hold phones that are very thick.✅ Comes with both rough and flat ground feet adapters, and a carrying case.If there are any changes in this tripod's quality, I'll report back in. 🤞 I hope you found my pictures and notes useful! Be well! ❤️🔥
