I was using a slant board at physical therapy to help me stretch my calves. This board is really sturdy - I'm just over 200 lb and feels solid under me. The grip tape is holding up to gentle use. It's easily adjustable. Bonus, I have also used it to train my puppy on uneven surfaces!

This riser is helpful in stretching my calves in the morning before workouts and even times when I just feel like I could use the stretch. I can adjust the angle using the built in slots as needed and climb on easily. The built in handles make it easy to move around the home and put away when not in use. When in use, the board doesn't slip thanks to the grip on the bottom and neither do I with the grippy tape on the top surface. I weigh well under the rated weight limit, but I don't doubt that it can hold that limit when feeling how solidly built it is.

They use a board exactly like this one when I go to physical therapy for my plantar fasciitis. I usually start out my session with this board by leaning forward and stretching my calves for 2 minutes. When using this slant board at home, I place the board near a counter so I can grab the counter for support while I am holding the stretch. The board is sturdy and has four different slots to prop the board up at different angles. You get a fifth angle from not propping the board up at all and having it rest on the side supports. I found the range of angles to be more than sufficient for my needs. The surface of this board is like sandpaper, so you can actually wear socks while using this board without sliding. The sandpaper can wear out over time. The board they have at my physical therapy is completely worn at the center where people place their feet, but I find that I have enough traction on the smooth board if I wear my sneakers (but not in socks). This BAM slant board comes with two replacement sandpaper-like strips, and I have also seen generic replacement strips for sale on Amazon. As for the bonus items, the spiky rubber massage ball is nice but I donβt see the point of using it on the slant board. To keep the ball from getting away from me, I find it easiest to use it on a level carpeted surface. The resistance band is fine but doesnβt integrate with the slant board in any special way. As far as I can tell, you are simply meant to stand on the band while you are using the slant board. The foam calf/squat wedges are probably the most useful of the bonus items. They are made of a light-weight foam, so you can travel with them (although they would still take up plenty of room in your luggage). These foam blocks stack well for different angles.PROS:* Sturdy* Good range of adjustable angles* Extra surface strips includedCONS:* Canβt fold completely flatNote: I received the extra coarse top strips, but did not receive the extra anti-slip, anti-scratch bottom pads.

I got this mostly for squatting exercises. After trying it out I like that it is also good for doing calf raises (not only stretching). The bottom wooden plate that has notches for holding up the swinging latch looks pretty solid, as does the hinge plate.I weigh under 175 lbs so I feel pretty good about getting on this thing, I see that it is rated for 450 pounds. I can't really test that, but I would be nervous getting on this thing that is made of laminated wood and thin hinge plates. I think if I were that heavy I would prefer something with steel and welded parts. For my purposes this thing is fine. One point of quality is that the sandpaper-like anti-slip pads can easily peel off with shear force. One of them is already peeling off at the corner. The photo shows "extra anti-slip bottom pads". These were not present in my item, just the ones that were already attached to the bottom. There were two extra of the top strips.

This flex board is excellent for my calf raises and gives a full stretch to the tibialis, so it gets worked out well with full range of motion. The quality is nice with the wood structure and the different angles provided allows for different stretches. It also works nice for elevated squats. I really don't need an angle beyond the 15 degrees level, but it is nice in case I may have to raise the angle higher. I reduced the stars because the sandpaper surface for my feet when doing my calf raises, created a large air bubble in one of them with the very first use. I took a needle to pop it, and I was able to press the paper back onto the board. They give you another spare set of sandpaper but not sure how long this type of surface will last after it is pulling away from the board in a single use. I did my calf raises in my bare feet, so it wasn't a shoe causing it. Time will tell if this type of surface will hold up under regular use. If not, I'll need to figure out something else that will hold up better for gripping the slant board.
