About this item

  • Jack provides support for leveling and stabilizing floor beams
  • The telescopic style positions the brace for better leveling
  • Includes a screw and turning bar for easy height adjustment
  • Steel construction with red oxide finish for optimal durability
  • Removable pins

This Vestil welded steel floor jack post (also called a basement floor jack) has a red oxide coating, a screw and turning bar, and dual-lock pins, and it extends telescopically for temporarily leveling, bracing, and stabilizing floor beams and joists during construction or repairs. The floor jack post can be adjusted and set to any height within the given range, allowing it to be used in applications with different height requirements. Welded steel provides strength. A turning bar and screw bolt are used to adjust the floor jack post's height, and two dual-lock pins secure the floor jack post at the desired height. The floor jack post has a diameter of 3". Both end plates are pre-drilled and measure 3-1/2 x 6 inches. The floor jack post should be installed on a concrete floor or concrete footing, with either end up.

Basement floor jacks, or jack posts, temporarily secure floor beams and joists in construction and industrial applications; they should not be used as permanent supports in new construction. Floor jack posts are typically made of steel for strength. They consist of an adjustable post and two end plates. The height of a floor jack post is adjusted using a screw and the post is held at the desired height with a series of pins. The bottom end plate must be installed on a concrete floor or concrete footing. Bolts must be used to secure each end plate to the structure the post is supporting, and a floor jack post's end plates may or may not have pre-drilled holes for these bolts.

Vestil Manufacturing Corp. manufactures materials handling equipment, including jib and gantry cranes, loading dock equipment, and storage solutions. The company, founded in 1968, is headquartered in Angola, IN.

We have a small cabin and it sits on soft ground and if we have a very wet spring our cabin will sink a bit. We have one of these in all 4 corners and if needed we can adjust the corners. Works great!

So these jacks are so much easier to use than the house support jacks that you find at the big construction stores. First the top plate is crimped and rotates and can't fall off. The bottom is welded to the metal support plate. This is ideal as the ones that are readily available come in four parts. A top/bottom plate, a center post and rotate head and all can and will fall apart numerous times when go to set them up, which is usually in places where you don't have a lot of space. These don't have any problems and you can set and readjust them without anything falling apart far superior for their load ratings.

A whole support for two 4 or 5 step stairs had rot due to water damage.Everything is level now. This is a lifesaver!Only criticism: The rod for turning the corkscrew will bend at some amount of torque. If I had to do it over again, I would have lubricated the threads. I did have to get a high strength bolt, the diameter of the rod, to finish turning the corkscrew with a cheater bar.Highly recommended!

FJB-16 Jack:I couldn’t find details, so including them here. The tube is 2.50” OD and 0.080” wall thickness. The thread is M30 x 2.0 (approximately 1.25” dia x .080 pitch). The tube top cap (with the female thread) is 12mm thick (just under half inch). Cap is welded to the tube approximately 270 deg around. The base and top plates are 6mm x 89mm x 153mm (1/4” x 3.5 x 6.0)The only reason I cut this open was I need two of them to be approx 10.5” tall, so will be shortening them myself. I was going to make my own, but can’t even get all the material for the price of these!Would definitely purchase again. Way better made than some of the cheaper ones, and equal in quality to others costing 50% more.

This is a well made screw jack. The center post is about 1/8 inch too long, which makes it a difficult to do the initial loading onto the jack. Once the center post has created a divot into the surface of the wood you are loading, the 4/6 plate bites in, and all works well. But for some bizarre reason, the US manufacturer has decided to make the thing NON-RETURNABLE. I ordered 4 jacks. Only needed 3. This extra jack hit every Amazon criteria for being returned. It is not medical equipment, or anything else that is on the non-return list. They just, RANDOMLY, will not take it back. They should feature this information, PROMINENTLY, in the product information. Amazon credited my account. I kept the jack at Amazon's request. I would have preferred to do the honorable thing and return this item to the shipper. Bizarre. But, thanks to Amazon customer service for making it right for me financially.
