I am using this to anchor one of Doug Hylans Oonagh design 11'-8: X5'-0" lug rigged Rowing or sailing dinghysThe Lewmar's holding power in mud or sand is 360Lbs and it fits in a small cloth bag along with 8 ft of chain and 50" feet of nylon rode. The bag fits comfortably in every one of my boats five under seat stowage compartments with a lot of room to spare even in the smallest one, It should be adequate for 99% of the situations where I imagine my self anchoring and i can always add on a mooring line for the 1% situation where in need 100 feet of rode.

I bought this for an inflatable 11ft zodiac that I am using to fish the saltwater flats. I had a 10lb mushroom that didn't hold the boat. This one, much much lighter, is the real deal. It digs in and it stays put. I added a 4 ft chain from walmart, and the whole system is perfect.

There will never be quality like a real Bruce anchor when they first came out. One of my 33s, and I have two, bent at the shank. It's not a bad Bend but it's still bent I never had a real brand name Bruce do that but for the price? Well worth it and the bend in the shank doesn't stop the anchor from holding but it does tell me that the quality is less than a real Bruce I'd say go ahead and buy it it's a good anchor

You will need to drill out the clasp hole to attach a chain properly to the head.

Perfect for sandy bottom kayak fishing. The bell type anchors don't hold in sand so this worked much better keeping my fishing kayak in place in windy conditions

After struggling with a grappling style anchor for a few months on my waverunner, a friend recommended this style anchor to me. It's perfect! I'm always anchoring in sand (no roots, rocks, etc), and I can't miss with this anchor. I can chuck it and it bites every time. In sand, I have experience with many types of anchors (richter, fluke, mushroom, grappling). The fluke (or danforth) is also a great choice, but for the small size I need, they don't work nearly as well as this claw anchor. I use a fluke for my 21' bow rider. A larger version of this anchor would probably work great for that, but it won't fit in my boats anchor locker due to its bulky shape.

The design of this anchor really works well at the sandbar
