Can’t speak to longevity, so far so good. Quality is ok, not the best/sturdiest. Maybe I just expected a little more at the price point, but it’s ok.Arrived quickly. Pretty self explanatory as far as assembly. Hope it holds up. If it doesn’t, I’ll update.

This was a simple easy to put together waterer for chickens. I have a small but growing chicken coop that I've found to have an easier time with automated water systems, but the ones I had prior to ordering this were all manual. So when I learned that there was fully automated water systems, which this one has the capability for, I naturally ordered this and upon arrival, it came with everything you needed, including the water hose to link it into your water system. It was a nice-to-have and simplified setup even further and the chickens are happier for it, now.

This is good but expensive, and it's not necessary. The auto-refill cups are controlled by a float switch that shuts off with an outside hose. The hose has adaptors, so you can connect it to whatever you like. It works well, looks good, and functions as it should. However, it stands on legs that are kind to get into.

Putting this together was super easy, there are several options for installation and so far the parts don’t leak, that said once you get the hose attached and even with the float all the way down, and as tight as I can make it, it doesn’t stop the water flowing from the hose, even on a trickle. The entire bottom of my entry to my coop flooded, the lid is nice and tight the birds have not knocked it off at all, but I have to turn my hose off/on to fill it as it does leak due to a bad float.

The chickens are never out of water! The drinking water stays cleaner too. It's a win!

I have mixed feelings about this Automatic Float Controlled Chicken Waterer. The set up was easy, but no instructions included so possible for those who is just starting out with all those waterers they may not know what goes where, however if it is not your first chicken waterer then you can definitely figure out without any instructions. I like the metal hose and the red waterers look well, but the float and the bucket itself are made out of thin plastic and feel very flimsy. My other waterer are all made out of heavy duty plastic to handle heavy loads of water and this one is definitely not that. They should have definitely take into account that this is a waterer and it will be heavy so it has to be made out of heavy duty sturdy plastic or metal. Also the lid does not snap on it and hanging in there loose which is also is not a good thing and can be easily flipped over. The idea is great and it does function as a waterer, but it need improvements to last and be useful.

I got this waterer for my chickens for when I'm on vacation. I easily hooked it up and put it in my run. It's working exactly like it says it would. Now I don't have to worry about them running out of water while I'm away. The 7 gallon gravity waterer I have, the top is terribly hard to get off to fill. I didn't want my chicken sitter to have to worry about filling it up.

I love the idea of this but the float mechanism didn’t stop the flow of water and it keeps overflowing.
