If you’re fishing big flies, this is the box. The foam is at least 1/4” deep and holds big hooks much better than standard fly boxes, the latch uses steel posts, the gasket is robust and well seated, and the box is sort of a perfect size. Good plastic.Small enough to keep several in the boat if you like, still fits in a backpack, but DEEP - so it holds large baitfish patterns without the flies smashing onto each other when closed.The rubber drying patch on the lid would be more functional if the slits were longer and the pad was deeper, but at least it isn’t cut in the shape of a trout.I was able to buy this at my local fly shop for $5 cheaper than Amazon, it has their logo printed on it, and I was able to shop local - but if you’re a committed saltwater angler and you’re wondering if you should buy this box wherever you can find it, the answer is yes.
