Honda wanted $350 for an oem egr valve. I seen all the parts stores carried this standard motors products egr so I went with it. This replaced an already aftermarket egr valve after cleaning intake manifold & finally code went away! Saved money too ordering on Amazon!

I bought this for my 2003 Honda Civic EX 1.7L manual coupe. Fit perfect and came with a gasket also like other reviews have stated. I had an engine light for P0401 insufficient exhaust flow. I checked before ordering to see if there was any carbon built up in the engine, and it was clean. Fixed my engine light and was able to pass emissions.

I installed this in a 2003 Honda Civic EX, 1.7L 4-cylinder. Fit was perfect. It cleared up the problem I had with my check engine light codes. This does come with a gasket which was not specified in the description.

This valve might work fine in the right application, but I'm pretty bummed.Several weeks ago I searched for an EGR valve for my car (2003 Honda Civic Hybrid). This valve came up in the search results, and when I clicked on it, text on the webpage also indicated that this part does fit my car. I ordered it and it arrived just fine, but due to weather and being busy with a move across the U.S., I didn't install it until today. I found that it doesn't fit, in that the electrical connector is facing the opposite direction (180 degrees away, rotated around the axis of the valve) from where the original connector faced. The wires on the mating cable wouldn't reach, until I loosened pieces, re-routed the cable, and stretched it quite tight. At this point it appears to work great! But I suspect that with vibration and temperature changes, the wiring/connections will fail before long.So I looked on amazon.com. I did a search for EGR valves that fit my car, and this valve is still listed as one of the ones that fit my car. But when I click on the link for that valve, the resulting webpage now says that the valve does *not* fit. That is, in search results it still comes up yes (which is incorrect), but on the webpage it now says no (which is correct).I don't understand the listing process well enough to know whether the mistake was/is on the part of amazon.com, or of Standard Motor Products, or whether maybe the valve design (or manufacture?) was actually defective. Regardless, I'm probably going to have to re-replace the valve at some point "down the road".One other annoyance is this. There was and still is nothing in the description saying it would come with a gasket, so I also ordered and received a gasket. Today when I opened the valve box for the first time, I found that a gasket was included. I guess I can always make a necklace or something out of it.Hmm now I see that if I want to describe seller experience, I'm supposed to do that at amazon.com/feedback instead. But I can only leave 400 characters there (what a pain, why is that?), and I can't be sure whether it's a seller problem or not, so ... I'm done.

nearly fits correctly on my 2003 honda civic. Tight on the electrical connector for clearance with part of engine. REAL tight.

I ran the parts checker on this product to verify that it worked with my car. It was supposed to, but when I had the mechanic break through the rusty screws on my car, it turned out this was entirely the wrong one, even though it's supposed to fit. Don't get your auto parts through Amazon unless you know exactly what you're getting, kids.
