Your cart is empty. KOUL Tools Surseat Lapping Tools are the latest addition to their lineup of unique and innovative tools. The Surseat P-45 Line Lapper is designed for cleaning up flared tubing ends before assembly to prevent leakage. Just like lapping your engine valves to prevent leaks, why wouldn't you lap the surface that's keeping your critical vehicle fluids from leaking. Before you assemble your fluid transfer lines, itÀâ„s important to make sure the flare on the tube has a nice finish. The Surseat lapping tool is designed to provide you with that "lapped" finish.
Simple in design and effective in function, the Surseat Line Lapper utilizes a diamond dust lapping head to gently lap in a flared tubing end to create a better seal. The Surseat will smooth out those irritating irregularities after flaring the tube that cause you to spend even more time on your project than you anticipated.
The KOUL Tool P-45 Lapping Kit is for use on 3/16" thru 1/4" OD regular steel brake lines that utilize a 45° flare, and just like all of the KOUL Tools, it includes custom carrying case for secure storage and transportation!

Creating double flares in NiCop 3/16 brake line this tool really cleans up the inner 45 degree of the double flare seating surface. Very simple but effective tool, if your flaring your own brake lines great tool to have on hand.

Likes: Tool works as described. Fixed my leaking stainless 3/16” inverted flare beautifully. No looseness in tool anywhere.Dislikes: why make a tool that ONLY works on SAE threads? Foolish. Had to drill and tap for M10x1.00 thread. Silly to not offer threaded fittings for European and Asian vehicles. “P45” logo fell off knob immediately. I glued back on with gorilla glue… “hint hint”. Last but not least, a little silly that there isn’t a way to attach a drill. Would be nice to spin it a little more than 1/4-1/2 a turn at a time.Recommendation to manufacturer:MAKE SOME METRIC FITTINGS. You’ll cover more of the custom market (three stars only because I had to fix this).

Way overpriced. The nut that holds your flare has a lot of play. The tool sort of works, but for this price I would expect better. I think you could make your own with a cheap flare tool and some lapping compound.
