If you have access to a fire and don't feel like sucking through a straw filter, this setup is perfect. It won't keep you liquids warm or cold like a double wall, but it also won't explode on you when you boil water in it. I would say this is a camp/hike/survival item instead of an every day bottle, but it has whatever you need to stay hydrated in the wild without a filter.

The 42 oz stainless steel Pubgear flask and matching cup are designed to make hydration easy, whether walking through your local park or hiking on a wilderness trail. The sturdy oxford carry bag offers nested storage of the cup and flask, and can be carried either over the shoulder with an adjustable sling or attached to belt or pack with the integral MOLLE straps. The 304 stainless steel cup is large (700 ml) and can serve as a small cook pot for heating a hot beverage or to rehydrate a meal/snack. Being 304 stainless, the cup will become very hot so use the included handle when placing over a flame or burner. This set is perfect for a day hike, but perhaps too large for backpacking.

nice single wall canteen set. I've seen kit like this used on YouTube, now I can feel like one of the cool bushcraft kids.

I've been looking into getting a single wall bottle for hiking/camping for some while. I like the versatility of being able to store water as well as boil it. The included cup and pouch make this a perfect all-in-one package. I won't always use it (as I have a kettle I like) but it's fun to alter between your gear on different trips. 42oz is a good amount of water to be able to keep inside of this thing and could get you through a day trip (or more if you have a water source where you go). I recommend this product and am happy with it.

This is a very well designed kit containing a single wall stainless steel water bottle, nesting cup, hanging clip, and carrying case. The water bottle and nesting cup are very light weight for their size and will boil water quickly over a flame. The bottle has a lid with a sealing gasket to prevent leaks and comes with a clip to handle the bottle over an open fire or on a camp stove. The set comes with an exceptionally nice carrying case that has good quality handles and an adjustable strap to carry it cross body or over your shoulder. I was also pleasantly surprised to find MOLLE straps on the backside which is perfect to attach it to the side of my tactical style backpack. There is a drawstring to secure around the neck of the bottle to secure it in the bag. It also has a small mesh pocket on the front to carry small items such as water treatment tablets.I am very impressed with the design of this kit making it an ideal solution for carrying and treating water. With the nesting cup you can also cook small meals like soup, oatmeal, rice, etc. or make coffee, hot chocolate, or tea. It is an excellent compact and light weight set up for hiking, camping, or as an addition to your bug out bag. Highly recommended.

For an all in one open fire compatible canteen mug kit, it's very well thought out. An adequately sized water vessel (although I wouldn't call it "wide mouth"), a generously sized 700ml mug, an open fire water bottle hanger and carry case with all the features you could ask for.I have similar kits that have been pieced together from various makers and it can be a challenge finding just the right fits and a properly sized case to fit them in. This kit takes out all the trial and error headaches in one neat package! In particular, the case has cross over retainer straps that allow you to external carry your kit by the bottles sturdy D ring. Along with molle straps and a removeable shoulder strap it's a very functional carry case. It would be nice if the vertical molle straps were removeable, but that's a minor issue. All straps are securely sewn with box and center X stitching.Bottle weight: 264gMug weight: 124gSo why only 4 stars??I really like the full sized 700ml mug, but it's also the kits weakest link that cost a star. To me, 3 main points stick out.1. The handles have a comfortable shape, but are quite short and shallow. They're going to get hot, someone with larger hands (like me) is going to find it a snug fit and fingers are likely to come in contact with the hot body of the mug.2. The handles are secured by 5 very tiny spot welds (see photo) that barely show through from the inside of the mug. Through heat expansion and contraction I can very easily see those welds as a failure point.4. The raised embossing in the bottom of the mug. If you do any actual cooking in the mug those raised areas may cause sticking and will definitely make clean up more difficult. The nutshell: It's not perfect, but it's a very good solid value for an all-in-one kit like this. There's much to like!
