I've been using Philips automotive headlight bulbs for years and have tried most or all of Philips options for 9007 bulbs. 9007 VisionPlus, 9007 Vision, 9007 Standard and now 9007 NightGuide. In doing so, I've paid close attention to bulb specifications and marketing claims by Philips. In all cases I've read the mixed reviews, and thought "Maybe, just maybe one of the higher priced bulb choices will actually perform better than the cheaper ones."BRIGHTNESS: All seem about the same brightness. That’s not surprising since all are the same 55 watts and I believe 55 watts may be a DOT limit for this kind of bulb.VISION: Philips uses a somewhat vague and fuzzy term called “vision”. Not sure what this really means but Philips seems to infer it’s a measure of perceptible range or reach of beams. I believe that range is a function of beam power (55 watt limit) and the design of the vehicle lamp reflector and positioning of the bulb filament. I believe Philips cannot know the specifics of thousands of different vehicle lamp reflectors and therefore cannot accurately predict range or reach performance for your vehicle in the real world. Now, I admit my performance assessments are subjective and “seat of the pants” conclusions but I simply haven’t observed any perceptible advantages to one bulb or another in my vehicle. So, in conclusion, I’ve decided to simply purchase the lower cost Philips product going forward.

Brighter than standard 9007 halogens and have over a year on them so far without burn out.

I ended up buying a pair of these to replace the older bulbs I had on on my '07 Ranger, and after running them for the last 4 months, they've been solid. The light output is nice and bright, and they're definitely brighter than any other halogen bulb that I can think of. I also really like the color output. It's a nice, crisp, slightly warm white that isn't too warm in color, giving the truck a slightly more modern appearance at night. Overall I highly recommend these if you're in the market for really good halogen bulbs. Fingers crossed these last for a long time.

Philips and Sylvania are much more reliable than the cheap no name equivalents. I installed these in new replacements headlight assemblies, and BOOM! Night vision is restored!! As always, when one headlight lamp goes, the other will soon follow. So replace both, toss the old. This is the best price I found, it was worth waiting 2 days for arrival. Auto parts stores and WM charge too much, because they know it's a 'need it today part'. Wait for the delivery if you can! Brightness is plenty enough, and the brighter a halogen is, the shorter the life. And LED? Expensive, not as reliable, and why go so bright you nearly blind oncoming traffic? We've all seen that!! These are the best in brightness, life and price!

I installed one of these and one LED to compare with my previous not so bright OEM lights. Previously I was having trouble seeing the road and lines in the rain. The LED is much brighter then these Nightguides, (and I have not had any oncoming traffic complain about my LEDs being too bright). Customer service was good, they took them back. You should test against one of your current bulbs before permanently installing these, as they may not be suitable for your needs. For reference I was installing on a very tall Ford F250 4x4, so they may work better with a car or lights lower to the ground then the truck.
