Initially, I perceived this coat to be of medium weight. However, when my daughter wore it in temperatures below 10 degrees Fahrenheit, I was concerned that she would be cold, so I added extra layers of clothing. After some time, I noticed that she was beginning to perspire, prompting me to remove some of the additional layers. Despite its seemingly thin appearance, this coat effectively maintains a child's warmth.

Runs very larger and square. I think it would make a good outer layer coat, but I’m still waiting for it to fit my five year old.

I got this long winter jacket with hood for my granddaughter for play and school. She loved the jacket and she says that it keeps her warm going and coming from school and at recess. She usually wears her clothing underneath in layers.When playing outdoors for long periods of time, i.e. watching football games in winter, ice skating, etc. you will need to add extra warm layers of clothing under the jacket. I would not classify this as a heavy-weight jacket winter jacket, more as a medium three-season jacket. Its mid-weight for short stay outside in very cold weather (below 40 degrees).The material is soft and easy to wear. Sizing is pretty true, thought I like going slightly larger when wearing layered clothing. The jacket insulation is 100% Polyester NOT NATURAL DOWN FEATHERS as described. Someone goofed on the ad copy. OVERALL she liked it and loved the extra length. GOOD DEAL FOR THE PRICE

Advertisement says the jacket's made of down, the tag that comes on it says 100% polyester fill, so I'm not so sure about the down (I guess don't expect down for $28?). Either way, it is nice and warm (although truthfully I probably wouldn't have ordered if I knew it was polyester fill vs down).It fits my daughter very well. I got her a couple of sizes larger than what's noted for her age, and I'm glad I did (she's tall for her age). I suspect these jackets could run a bit on the small side.The only real negative is the way the pockets are made. There's not interior liner, so the pockets basically are separate little pouches inside that dangle out when the jacket's open. Aside from that, it appears to be well made, warm, and it looks nice. I like that it's a longer size, as it really helps keep my daughter warm, and it looks stylish.

This coat is excellent! It is nice and long, and is great for an extra layer that protects some of the lower body as well. I love that for days when snow pants aren't really necessary, but it's cold. It's also great for during potty training, because there is no fast way to remove a full snow suit or snow pants, when the kid needs to go, lol.It is pretty warm. The title says down, but they mean down alternative. It's 100% synthetic materials.The zipper operates smoothly and doesn't have any snagging points. The sizing is accurate. We spend a lot of time outdoors in all weather. I definitely recommend layering a least a thermal and a sweater underneath it if you'll have them outside for a long time when it is well below freezing. This isn't super heavy. If it's for a 30 minute recess at school, they should probably have more than a t-shirt underneath, as well. For shorter time outdoors, it is good. I'd definitely consider it winter weight, though, not spring, but also not arctic.The stitching is nice and even. It is suitably water resistant. The color matches what is shown online. It seems pretty durable.

Very light and comfortable. It’s nice to have a jacket like this for warmer winter days or between seasons. I would by it again.
