It takes a bit to figure out.. I watched other YouTube videos on it... but I used this tool on a truck with 7 broken studs and it worked amazing... you still have to think it through but a little patience and it worked awesome.

I was able to use the plate to tack or weld those thin nuts on. I did this 10 times and it never worked. What I found to work better was to go get my tin can full of normal nuts. I took a normal nut and put it on the stud and welded it. out of 16 I got 14 with this method. (very cheap method btw) I then bought an alignment plate for drilling out a broken stud for 40$...best!!! $$$$ ever spent!! Ohh, and yes I did buy them stud grabbin' tools..they failed too! The weld a nut method was the only thing that worked! So...word of advice...SAVE them Ole Nuts from other projects...they make great welding knobs !! Ohh and don't waste your time trying to get the old manifolds off the normal right way...just get that plasma cutter and cut them end nuts off. Get that manifold out of your way! Then weld nuts on the studs that are left sticking out! I tried 500$ worth of gismo's... what worked was the "weld an old nut" and the drill guide plate for 40$ with easyout...lot's of patience too.(use cobalt drill bits, hint hint)

Bought this tool based on their videos that it looked pretty easy to take out my broken studs on my ford 5.4 motor. Its a hole different ball game when its in the truck even by lifting the motor up. Tried everything that they said, I even bought an electric ratchet thinking that was my problem. In the end I used all the nuts they sent me with my kit and didn't take 1 out. So I used the old nuts I had laying around hold them with some pliers and welded them and had better luck with that. Would not recommend
