This is a nice CB radio kit. I like that you have the option to get the antenna with the radio which makes this a complete kit. This is great for beginners. The display is large and easy to read, and the controls are good too. This radio was easy to setup and works well. I think this radio is great for beginners.

I like to have various forms of communication in case of SHTF scenarios. This unit transmits clearly and has pretty good range. We live along a busy road and near interstate freeways where a lot of semi-trucks travel. We use it locally sometimes, but it's really fun on long distance road trips. The kids and I came up with cb "handles" and they're having fun learning the etiquette and ways cb radio users communicate. It can help you know if a traffic situation is happening near you abd how to avoid it.

Pretty nice plain radio. Sounds great. I haven't peaked/tuned it yet. But for being bone stock, it is pretty nice. I haven't used the stock antenna though. But either way, it is surprisingly nice for the money. This is a kit I ended up getting to give to my parents for their motorhome so they could communicate with me. It is a much nicer packaged unit than I had expected. It has a clean sound when running through an antron 99. Pretty good range for being stock wattage.If you want a "kit" to just throw on your car, I would definitely get this one. Great value and super simple to use.

You get a complete kit, which is great if this is the first radio in your current vehicle. The antenna magnet seems to be designed so that the antenna will knock over if it runs into an obstruction rather than scraping along the top of the vehicle (scratching the roof) like a stronger magnet might. You decide if that suits your purposes or not. The compact size will help if you have a more compact vehicle like I do. It would not be possible to install a large CB unit in my current vehicle, I just don't have the room. The operation of the radio seems comparatively simple, which may help beginners. 12v or 24v, so good for those heavy duty diesels with 24v systems. So far so good, I will update if I run into any issues.

This CB radio kit includes everything to get you started. The only nitpick I have is that I wished the magnet at the base of the antenna was stronger.I hope this review helps you make an informed purchasing decision!
