These treats are part of a comprehensive line of treats that are designed to support specific dietary needs to help your pet achieve treatment goals related to skin and digestive health. You can still reward and bond with your cat even while she’s following a therapeutic diet with treats that taste great and contain only a single hydrolyzed protein and single carbohydrate source. It’s a safe, effective treating option that’s backed by science you can trust.
Maine Gal
Our Maine Coon was determined to have food allergy to seafood, chicken and beef. Most treats tend to be made of these and would irritate. Vet suggested these as protein is hydrolyzed so his body would not react to it. They are costly but he is worth it. He loved them initially but later turned his nose up. Not sure why. But worth at least a try if your cat is allergic to stuff.

This is just to let you know that you can get these from Chewy for $8.99, though you will pay $5 shipping until your order totals $49, then shipping is free. Price lowers for autoship.

When a cat is allergic to food, it's most commonly allergic to a specific protein found in the food. The ingredients don't list chicken protein, which is the thing our pets are most likely to be allergic to. It has chicken fat. The protein source is soy. Further, once a protein has been hydrolysed it has been broken down into it's constituent smaller peptides and amino acids, the basic building blocks that we all need to build our proteins from scratch. At that broken down stage it doesn't matter what the original source was. Most of the other ingredients are the names for vitamins and minerals. My cat does love it. And it is his high reward treat.

One of my cats just loved this cat treat. She had a lot of health issues, and she had been put on an Rx diet of Royal Canin Hydrolyzed protein feline cat food many years ago. We weren't allowed to give her any other kind of treat--people or regular non-Rx treats. When I discovered this treat, I bought a bag to try it out, and she loved them. If I put down a piece of her normal RC cat food and a RC cat treat, she would ignore the normal cat food and scarf down her treat.During the pandemic this treat became nearly impossible to find. My usual source to obtain the treats hasn't had them in stock for a very long time, and they still aren't available. It was a surprise to me to find them on Amazon, but they did cost more than my usual source. I was rationing out the treats as I did not know how long it would be until I could get more. As it turned out, I could have been more liberal with the treats as we had to have our little girl euthanized a week ago. Our remaining cat is kind of luke-warm on eating this treat, but I'm sure he can eventually eat the amount we have left.

I know this is a good product but like all market treats it has chicken that my cat can't eat, but you have to search to find it.

I feel like my cats know it's the same as their regular HP food but in a different shape. They're pretty bummed about it.

My cat loves these! She has a food allergy, so I get the hydrolyzed protein dry food of royal canin for her regular diet and she still loves these little treats for when I'm spoiling her!
