The Stage Elbow guard offers mid-range trail protection in a packable package. D3O is used for impact protection. D3O is soft and flexible to keep the guards comfortable while riding, but on impact, the D3O material hardens to disperse the energy for protection. Great product. Substantial coverage. Better that my last pair of old. If you have big arms do your research. I have 16" biceps and the xl is SNUG. Vents well haven't tried it in summer conditions yet but feels well vented. I'd only consider this a dh or enduro pad.

These are great for protecting your elbows. They run real small. Order up a size or two. They stay in place really well and ventilate awesome.

Ordered a xl size due to the recommendation for bicep size. Measured at 14 inches, these wouldn't even go past my elbows. Retuned and trying a different brand.

These pads arrived used! They are covered in dirt, have a hole in them and smell absolutely disgusting!! So gross!

I'm just chiming in on the thoughts around sizing up or not. I fit a M/L on both the wrist and the upper bicep at near the 75% mark. Meaning that another inch and I would be in the next size up. I tried both sizes. The M/L, when trying on was actually a bit uncomfortably tight. But the XL/XXL still felt tight. I decided on the larger size. However, after my first ride. I did notice that with sweat, the tightness on the XL/XXL was not noticeable. Having sized up, the pad did slip on one occasion. I was able to snug the pad up to my armpit and it did not slip for the remainder of the ride. For reference this is an 9 mile 1200 foot climb and downhill with high speed rock gardens, so plenty of opportunity for the pads to slip. Oddly, the slip that did occur was on an uphill. Conclusion: I believe that I would have been fine or better off to stick with the M/L. However, the XL/XXL does appear to be snug enough. I will have to start doing curls maybe. I hope this helps.

These would be great elbow pads if they manufactured the right size. I have the Troy Lee Designs Stage knee pads in M/L. They fit great and are easy to get on and off (my legs are pretty muscular as well). But, the elbow pads are WAY Too SMALL!!! I initially ordered the M/L and could not even get them up to the top of my forearms. Then I ordered the XL/XXL. They are very difficult to get even close to being in place...taking 2 people. Me pushing the pad up from the bottom and someone else pulling the pad up from the top while hearing sounds from the material that you really don't want to hear. Granted, I hit the gym here and there, but 15" upper arms is not that big, definitely not XL/XXL. These are a great design, just obviously modeled from someone who apparently gets sand kicked in their face!
