Mysticism - Experiencing a Higher Reality

The term mysticism has its origin in the Greek language and means "to close". Mysticism is related to mysteries and secret rituals, and the term is also used in the sense of "arcane" or "hidden". In contrast to magic, mysticism is commonly acceptable, and through reports and statements it describes quite naturally the experience of a higher reality. However, it also describes the efforts that lead to such an experience. Mystic research can even be found within theology and religious studies. The origin of Christian mysticism is much older than the god-experience of church mystics.
The ancient tradition stresses the togetherness of contemplation and active life. Both sides are mutually dependent. Spirituality and daily life are closely connected. Through mysticism the divine glory can be experienced in oneself. This force flows through you and vitalizes you so that your personality gleams with new life and expresses it's beauty in all facets. Only in confrontation with these forces can you gain insight and reign in the creative plan. To really experience god you must first recognize yourself.
