Gnosis - The World of Polarities
Central to Gnosis was and is the idea that the world expresses itself by necessary polarities. Only by darkness one can experience the light, positive and negative, male and female. The creative energy, which is the first cause of existence, was and is perfect. From her emerged the creators of the universe.
Man as a microcosm is the mirror image of the macrocosm. Thus man possesses the whole of creative potential in the cosmos. Therefore the Gnostic student tries to walk the path of dynamic equilibrium in order to awaken all the cosmic qualities within himself - beyond all false religious interpretations of good and evil. Their object of study is man and his origin, what he is, the cultures he created and the universe he lives in. The word "Gnosis" comes from the Greeks and means "knowledge". Gnosis is the enlightened knowledge that represents a secret doctrine.
